It’s an adventure – triathlons cover a lot of ground. It allows you to spend extended amounts of time the great outdoors. Not to mention the fact that triathlons always involve some kind of water-based activity! Whether it’s swimming or canoeing, you’ll get to take part in something that might be out of your daily routine or comfort zone.

You’ll inspire people – Completing three separate challenges takes courage and determination. When you take part in a triathlon you will inspire the people around you. You might even propel them into improving their own fitness.

It’s great for your mind – Not only this but it can also have an overwhelmingly positive effect on your mental health. You’ll experience stress reduction and improved self-esteem. As well as the satisfaction that you are raising vital funds for a worthy cause.

Focus on your weaknesses as well as your strengths – When you train for three different activities you are bound to be better at one than another. You might not become the fastest or the best but with practice you will definitely improve on your weak points. For many, the challenge of a triathlon is not about a winning medal. It is about completing something which they have found a personal challenge.  Working on things that need improvement will help you to realise that you are much stronger think.
